NHS service

NHS flu vaccination.

Free flu vaccination on the NHS for everyone who's eligible — including over-65s, people in clinical risk groups, pregnant women and carers.

The NHS offers free flu vaccinations each autumn and winter to people who are most at risk of serious complications from flu. As a community pharmacy, we run this service throughout the flu season — usually September to March.

Who's eligible for a free NHS flu jab?

The eligibility criteria are set by the NHS each year and may include:

  • People aged 65 or over.
  • People (aged 18+) in a clinical risk group — for example, with long-term heart, lung, kidney, liver or neurological conditions, diabetes, or a weakened immune system.
  • Pregnant women.
  • Carers, including people receiving carer's allowance or the main carer for an older or disabled person.
  • Frontline health and social care workers.
  • Household contacts of people who are immunosuppressed.

If you're not sure whether you qualify, just ask us — we'll check.

What to expect

One of our pharmacists will go through a short consultation with you to make sure the vaccine is safe and appropriate. You'll then get the jab in your upper arm; the whole appointment takes around 10 minutes.

Not eligible for NHS?

If you don't qualify for the free vaccine, we also offer a private flu vaccination at a competitive price.
