Private service

Travel advice & antimalarials.

Antimalarial medication and pre-trip travel health advice from one of our pharmacists, in a private consultation — so you can travel safely.

If you're heading somewhere with a malaria risk, you'll want the right antimalarial medication, the right dosing schedule, and a quick conversation about how to take it safely. Our pharmacist-led service is here to take that off your plate, in a quiet consultation room with proper time set aside.

What we offer

  • A private pre-travel consultation with one of our trained pharmacists.
  • Antimalarial medication, dispensed at the same appointment, with the right course length for your trip.
  • Honest, country-specific travel health advice — including food and water safety, insect-bite avoidance, sun, altitude and other practical considerations.
  • Travel essentials in stock: mosquito repellents, flight socks, diarrhoea relief, rehydration sachets.

What we no longer offer

We no longer provide travel vaccinations. If you need vaccinations for your trip, please speak to your GP surgery or book with a dedicated travel vaccination clinic — we're happy to point you in the right direction.

Plan ahead

Antimalarials need to be started before you arrive in a malaria-risk area, and continued during and after your trip. The exact timing depends on which medication you take. Please come and see us at least 2–3 weeks before you travel, ideally sooner if you're going somewhere remote.

Bookings & walk-ins

We offer both booked appointments and walk-in availability. If you'd like to be sure of a slot — particularly for a family or group — please call ahead.

Why see a pharmacist for antimalarials?

Most GP practices no longer routinely prescribe antimalarials on the NHS. Buying them online without a proper assessment is risky — the right antimalarial depends on the specific country, region, season, your medical history and other medications you take. A private consultation with our pharmacist takes about 15 minutes and gets it right first time.
